hi hi hey hello. pl

today the field trip into soho was SEW TOTALLY GR8. we went to gallery hanahou and saw the work of samantha hahn. her work is quite extensive...she covers basically...everything? in a good way. she is a true waterbender. THE FOLLOWING IMAGES SHOW THE WORK OF SAMANTHA HAHN AND THAT MEANS I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BELONG TO ME thanks for the all caps sara...stop yelling.

gallery hanahou, showing the works of samantha hahn

samantha's work was very inspirational. she uses watercolor BEAUTIFULLY and also does some stamp work. i think that having great artwork is one thing, but having inspirational artwork is even better. samantha has both. if you're lucky enough to live in NYC, head down there and check out her show.

after the gallery, we all went to our professor's studio. i'm reluctant to give a detailed explanation of that part of the trip because it was a very unique experience, and also very intimate. it was an honor for our professor to bring us into his sacred environmet where he does a lot of personal projects.

today was awesome.

what does tomorrow have in store? the seventeeen shoot, duuuuuuh. i'm kinda used to this routine by now so i know what to expect. i hope tomorrow is as good as today was.

september 25th 2011.long time no see

i'm back at FIT in NYC so OMG.

i wasnt sure if i would return to blogging, but here i am. i spend so much time in front of the computer anyways (its 4 oclock on a sunday, has she been outside? no, she has not) so i might as well be productive and update my blog and galleries and tumblr and twitter and facebook and HOLY SHIT SARA STOP. go outside.

another reason to get back to blogging? my *blog (yes, you will see a footnote at the bottom of this entry) has been selected by Seventeen to be one of their featured blogs in their Prom Issue. bloggers will be styling dresses provided by seventeen. though i'm too old for prom now, i can still look the part. (the guy at my bodega told me i look like i was 14, when i told him i was 19 he said "ah. 5 yeeerz. dees ees eh problehm." i said "what do you want me to do?" lolz)

so, because my blog is going to be in seventeen's prom issue, i figured i could use a few recent posts. this actually may be the most in depth-post i've had...ever? do you like it?

this will be the third time im being shot (BAM BAM!) for seventeen.

*this is NOT a fashion blog, its an art blog. (okay, there are some other fun things sprinkled around here too, like cute pets and fun vacations). just as some fashion blogs use art as inspiration, i use fashion as inspiration for my art. fashion blogs arent REAL, people! unless you are the man repeller. now that is a real fashion blog.

okay...and now onto the purpose of this blog

connie corleone. i just love her. she had a small part in the godfather movies, but HEY, WHAT A BIG PRESENCE. (ink+pencil)

wanna quit smoking?

(ink pen)

watch for this one to be finished.
this little lady...has great lipstick... this is my friend sam
doodled her in english class^ warby parker sunglasses.

also, i am currently UNemployed. last year/this summer, i worked at Tao as a hostess, and I'm not going back right now because a. they wont have me back (lolz wut?) and b. i kinda dont have time. i'm not interning right now either (this summer i was interning at marc jacobs for the collection handbag designer).

so sara, what are you doing with all your new-found free time in NYC?

sitting in front of the computer.

JK! i'm doing other stuff too ^ _ ^ hanging with friends (yeah, i have a few, OKAY?) and making art. i just bought a bike too. jez doin wutever, chu kno? more l8r.
